FAQs – new boiler
Here are some of the questions that we get asked quite a lot. If you would like more information or can’t find the answer to a question you have, then please get in touch. We’ll be happy to help you.
How do I know if I need a new boiler rather than a repair?
If your boiler is breaking down repeatedly, or repair costs are creeping close to the price of a new unit, replacement is possibly the better long-term option. During a call-out or service, we’ll always give you an honest opinion on whether repair or replacement is likely to make more sense for your situation — there’s no pressure either way.
How long does a new boiler installation take?
Most straightforward oil boiler replacements only take up to two days, so you’re rarely without heating for long. If your installation involves extra work — like upgrading pipework or moving the boiler’s location — we’ll let you know in advance so you know what to expect.
Will a new boiler save me money?
Modern oil boilers are significantly more efficient than older models. Exactly how much you’ll save depends on your current boiler’s age and condition.
Can I choose an HVO-ready boiler for the future?
Yes — we install Sapphire boilers that are fully HVO-ready, meaning you can switch to a lower-carbon renewable fuel later without needing another new boiler.
Do I need to replace my oil tank at the same time as my boiler?
Not necessarily — if your existing tank is in good condition and meets current regulations, it can usually stay in place.
